I was re-reading the return of enerjak while listening to time eater modern, and must it say it was really fitting. It got me thinking: what theme songs do you think match the cast?
Sonic- It Doesn't Matter (sa2)
Tails- Believe in Myself (sa2)
Knuckles- Knuckles theme (S&K)
Antoine- Monkey Delivery Service (Mother 3) or sometimes Shadow (FF6)
Scourge- Waking Up (Shadow)
Enerjak- Time Eater Modern (generations)
Eggman- Doc Robeatnix (Shadow)
Nac- Slam Shuffle (FF6) or, more likely, Battle Against A Mobile Opponent (EarthBound)
Metal Sonic- Stardust Speedway Bad Future, USA (generations)
Boom Knuckles- Saturn Valley (EarthBound)

It doesn't have to be from a video game, that's just what I thought best fit.

when I was reading through the Champions arc, I would queue up the respective stage themes from Sonic the Fighters while going through the fights, and I did the same thing with Genesis, playing the music from their zones as they went through them. with Genesis I had emulated music files with infinite loops which made it even more convenient. it got fun at the end when they kept switching between the freedom fighters in oil ocean and Sonic in metropolis

as for my preferred versions of the characters who have multiple themes...

Sonic - It Doesn't Matter (SA2 version)
Tails - Believe in Myself (SA1 version)
Knuckles - Unknown from ME (SA2 version)
Amy - Follow Me (Sonic Heroes; her SA1 theme kinda feels... potentially not suited for children)
Shadow - Throw It All Away (I like "I Am All of Me" and "All Hail Shadow" too, but his original is still best)
Eggman - E.G.G.M.A.N. (most of his themes are pretty good but I stick with this one cos it's the corniest... though the Robeatnix mix isn't significantly less corny)
I guess Metal Sonic has multiple themes too, the Generations one is probably the best (I would say "what I'm made of" but the lyrics seem to opposing him rather than about him)

Anyway, I kinda prefer Endless Possibilities for Sonic, not sure why. Probably because I like Sonic more as a hero than a "Screw you, I do what I like" guy.

Dunno bro. If we want, we can expand the thread into analyzing the themes too. That entire song has so many not E-rated implications as well as lines that just straight up make no sense.

Also, I'm not sure how loosely to interpret the "no pyf" rule. Would it apply to topics like this?

There are a number of odd lines in that song, some odder than others:

• (I wouldn't mind painting myself blue for you)
• I do understand the feelings of a Persian cat (But the Sphinx is so cute, I had to shave it)
• He reminds me of parsley when he's standing there alone
• (Sweet sweet you're so sweet) There's nowhere to hide
  (Sweet sweet you're so sweet) Come on, settle our lives
• I honestly need you just as much as you need me

That "I get it on by myself" line in Knuckles' SA1 theme was a little awkward, as well. I mean, it fits, given the whole solitary nature as guardian of the Master Emerald thing, but still, they could've worded it a tad better...
