They may not be specifically named in the games, but they're definitely a part of game canon.

I like to think that the Robot Master groups will end up being like the different Freedom Fighter and villain teams from the Sonic comic-they'll help mix things up a bit.

Well I hope that in the future we won't have to hear about IC chips too much. I mean ever since Ian found out about them, it seems he's been inserting references to them as much as he can to make up for Ra Moon

In Ra Moon, the Robot Masters are copied from backups downloaded instantly onto Wily's laptop by Ra Moon. A lot of people, even those who didn't know about IC Chips, thought it was cheap that 95% of the cast could be revived so easily if they were to die. IC Chips were brought up in Worlds Collide as a permanent destruction if broken, established again in Break Man's rampage as death, and now in MM3 them being collected is part of the plot. I'm not against any of those individual instances, but they are adding up. It's a little thing though.

They're basically the DNA Souls of Classic.

I think Cuts and Wood show up in MM7, that one game with the Constellation Droids. MM9 shows all the robots living happy at the end.

Mega Man 8 for the Cut and Wood Man battles, although only in the Saturn version. I need to play that one someday...

They do show up enough times that I think it warrants keeping them "alive" whenever possible. The earlier ones especially, since those are the ones most often seen as "classic" and tend to be reused as a result.

A large amount of Wily's robots weren't really Wily's in the first place anyway, so it shouldn't interfere with the amount of villains too much (also those who were modified could probably stand to get a happier ending anyway.)

Anyone else have feels for Top Man's and Snake's man death. For once in the comics, I've actually felt sad seeing a Robot Masters destroyed. I mean I like MM2 Robot Masters and all, but their deaths were as powerful as I see here in this issue.

It didn't get put up on Comixology today. Anyone know anything about the digital delay? The paper copies take a long time to get up here to Canada for some reason.

As is usual with thew Mega Man comic the physical release was pushed back a week to 10/1/14, so likely the digital was as well.

The subscriptions page says that it is coming on next Wednesday, October 1st. It seems that the book was delayed by one week, the same is happening with Sonic Universe.
