How is the comic playing favorites with Shadow Man?

Also I think that creepy chef bot was intentional.

Maybe it's because of how Shadow Man was destroyed effortlessly by Shadow in Worlds Collide.

Got the new issue during the week.

Not much to say about it. I thought Shadow Man's story was terribly anti-climactic. Like, was there even a point to his story this issue? What did we accomplish here?

X looked gorgeous courtesy of Spaz, though I hope it gets an ongoing. I didn't get anything out of the story due to its short length.

Am looking forward to seeing Tempo next issue, probably my favorite character in the book so far.

The point was to show the comraderie between the Wily Robot Masters, to give them a little depth beyond just being those guys Mega Man blows up over and over. That's how it looks to me at least.

I can respect that, I'm just curious what was gained by focusing on Shadow Man. It felt like there were ten other ways of getting that across and this one just felt like it went nowhere. Shadow Man was super upset about Rock and gang going in to Ra Moon's place and then more or less forgets about it because Blues and his team happened to be around. It felt like an odd way of ending what seemed like a subplot.

Well, the focus on Shadow Man was probably because he was a loose end from the whole Ra Moon thing. As for him "forgetting" it, I think he's embraced his new destiny.

Only for him to come back courtesy of the doctors taking advantage of time-cloning of their Zone.

Just that it seems that he's been getting the most focus out of the MM3 bots lately. Although~, I could say the same regarding Quick Man from the MM2 line. Likewise with Pharoah Man from MM4 and Splash Woman from MM9, although to be fair the use of Pharoah Man here in particular does make sense given his function. Yeah I know the chef bot was intentional also, but doesn't change the fact that he creeps me out. O_O;

Sorry, there's always a popular robot in every generation. Besides, I don't see the problem since Shadow Man IS a loose end and now that it's been solved he can go back into the age of obscurity like every other Robot Master.*

* No I don't approve of the RM's being shoved aside but what can you do with no side comic series to give them all focus?

Yeah, basically what LDD said. There's always going to be at least a RM who is the "face" for each set. Whether it was a cool design, good stage, or if the boss fight was fun/challenging. Or all at once sometimes.

Indeed; out of the Third Series, Shadow Man is usually the standout. Of course, part of this probably comes from Ariga placing him as effectively being Proto Man's opposite number on Wily's side...

Interesting point.~ With that in mind who would be the faces for MM 5-8 + 10 then? Not to mention "Mega Man and Bass"?

When the Stardroids arrive, ShadowMan's loyalty may come into question. Assuming he'll still be relevant in the comic when that rolls around.

Even if he isn't, he can become relevant again.

Mega Man 5 - Napalm Man is my most recognizable, but I think they might go with Stone Man since he seems to have a relationship with Gutsman (not unlike Concrete Man)

Mega Man 6 - We already have Plant Man

Mega Man 7 - Freeze Man is probably most identified with the game, but I could see using Shade Man as the face of the game because he's a bit off compared to other Robot Masters

Mega Man 8 - Tengu Man

Mega Man & Bass - Burner Man (and still Tengu Man since he's in this game too) because of the situation with him basically being blackmailed by King would make for an interesting story

Mega Man 9 - Already have Splash Woman and Concrete Man

Mega Man 10 - Nobody really pulls ahead here for me, so I don't know
