Mega Man Vol. 8: Redemption

Looks like there's a listing for the new Mega Man graphic novel entitled "Mega Man 8: Redemption" over at Amazon- http://www.amazon.com/Mega-Man-Redempti ... e+mega+man and set to be released September 23, 2014. I would guess that the title is a reference to Dr. Wily's trial. Since "Mega Man 7: Curse of Ra Moon" will contain issues 29-32, this graphic novel will most likely contain issues 33-36. Any thoughts?

Funny. I got three news tips about this listing this morning, and now I'm seeing it here... but, I posted about it on the site on the 2nd. =P

It's safe to say it will contain #33-#36. I'm more curious to what the cover art will be. I'd like to say I'm pretty good with predicting them, but I would have never guessed Vol. 6 would have used #22's cover over #23's.

Just for kicks and giggles, I'm going to say it'll use #36's standard cover (the simple, bold one that no one appreciates)... With something added to a corner about "The X Factor" being inside. But, really... any of the issues' standard covers have pretty good odds. #36's would probably be the most inviting on store shelves, while #34's seems the most pertinent to the content inside.

A bit off topic, but I wonder how the X back story will be handled. I'm pretty sure the preview in the next issues will be setting up and polling for interest in a full scale series, but would they put it in with the classic TPBs or wait for X TPBs?

I don't know. I would prefer X get a separate series of paperbacks, but only time will tell.

They'll probably go both ways, keeping it in this book, and then when an X series comes out, they'll put in the back-up stories in as a bonus "Prologue", like with the Sonic Universe 30YL graphic novel.

Delicious.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Classic series, but I'm throwing a ton of money at the TPBs of X when they come out :3

I was one of those people who sent you a message, so whoops! As for the covers, I was wondering the same thing. 36 seems the best for grabbing attention in stores, so I'm wondering if there will be a bit of a mix like on the Rock of Ages cover where some artwork from another cover will also on that cover.

Yeah, I thought this was about the game, too. Misleading/confusing title.

Change the title to "Mega Man Vol. 8: Redemption", then.

Can't wait for the graphic novel. Hopefully it'll have both the "alternate endings" that the solicits claimed, since I probably won't get the variants anyway.

I was expecting #36's cover.

I thought about that, but this one fits better as the arc's cover I suppose.

I would have thought Issue 36's variant cover would be for this. I mean It's titled Redemption and the cover with Rock, and Detective Stern taking Wily in. This is the one that works best in my opinion because firstly, It has Wily as the main star of the cover, since this arc is based on him trying to be redeemed by Mega Man. It also shows the media coverage that Wily has been getting since Unplugged and Stern and Rock having to watch him as Wily looks around the media. This perfectly shows all of what Wily is getting to try be proven that he was under Ra Moon's control.

Even on Shadow of the Moon's cover, Wily is just in the corner while Rock takes the show and Don't get me wrong, Mega Man is a huge part in the story with his recovery and fear and getting over Ra Moon's attack. But with the title Redemption, It seems like Wily should be getting a top spot in the cover as the other main part of the story is Mega Man feeling he owes it to Wily to prove him not guilty since Wily saved him at the end of Curse of Ra Moon.
