Which is why Zero can give Megaman.exe his sword, right?

Also Boktai.

Isn't the Battle network series meant to be a parallel universe? Both it and the Classic series take place in 200X/20XX. So, unless they somehow make a time machine with built-in dimension-hopping device, I don't think that'd be possible.

Cyberspace seems like it could be some sort of shared entity. Sort of like the Cosmic Interstate in Sonic.

Supposedly, yeah. Classic and BN are separate universes, where either robotics (Classic) or the Internet and virtual reality (BN) gained sufficient advancement over the other.

I'd love for Archie to do a quick Zero series story, but the Zero series is pretty dark for a kid's game.

It wouldn't be the first time Archie has a character die in one of their adaptions, so I don't see that effecting the chances of there being a Zero series.

It is an established fact that BN/SF exists in a parallel universe from the rest of the series. While I don't deny the possibility that cyberspace can connect parallel universes... The canonicity of these events you named are very weak. These are just bonuses and cameos and have absolutely no bearing on the storyline of either series. I don't believe for a moment that Boktai is intended to exist in the same continuity as Mega Man. Remember that Zero and MegaMan.EXE also appeared in Onimusha Blade Warriors. Does that mean Mega Man and Onimusha exist in the same continuity as well?

Zero canonically dies three times, so that's nothing new. And, the Zero series can be toned down significantly by just removing all of the superfluous gore.

Considering every enemy gushes huge waves of blood when you slash them, I'd say "yes."

Doesn't it show off the brutality of war or something?

The sheer fact you can get away with the "or something" is all the answer you need, Mav.

If the Zero series really wanted to explore the horrors of war they could've shown more of the actual horrors of war, not just "hey here's some buckets of red paint!"

Hey, just asking. Never experienced the Japanese version, so I'll never really know how it feels to rip open a robot and have its oil and stuff spill out in a Mega Man game.

It's the exact same as the US version, but a neat animation of an 80's style blood gush plays over whenever you cut an enemy. I'm not saying I don't like it, I remember when the rom of the Japanese version of the first game first surfaced and I somehow got my hands on it it was very neat, but it's really superfluous.

Here's the start of the Japanese version of the game, if you'd like to compare.
