As of 12:30 PM (Central) September 2nd, the back money is up to $956,293.

I'd say that's a record, guy. <3

Awesome! Well since the main goal is no longer an issue, might as well throw this up.

I'm betting it will hit the 2.5 million mark before this drive is over. By tomorrow I foresee the 2 extra stages milestone being reached. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if it hit 5 million by October 1st.

EDIT: Now this really brought a tear to me eye.

Especially when you play this at the last panel.

I hope that they'll make Call a playable character. Get out in front of this thing now, rather than waiting 15 years and arming her with a broomstick.

In the the Kickstarter video, around 1:30 :
Keiji Inafune wrote:I launched a project a few years ago that was one of my longest held-dreams, but with its cancellation, I felt like I let down not only myself but fans too.
I thought long and hard about how to make sure that wouldn't happen again and that led me to Kickstarter

It is nice to see that we are going to get some sort of amend for Mega Man Legends 3, even though it is not an MM title. I have played Mega Man Legends 2 quite a few times, and I could not summarize its plot to save my life (talk about convoluted story...). But even then, the cancellation of Legends 3 for some reason struck me hard (and I am not the type of person who usually feels bad for game cancellations). Maybe it was because of seeing the hard work of passionate fans and staff were just threw out of the window without any explanation.

Anyways, it is great that Mighty No. 9 is going to be made with help from fans. Let this be what MML3 wasn't :)

Any preferences for the designs? Villain? Good doctor? Friend of good doctor?

I like most of them but the top middle one is a cool fusion of Wily and Weil.

I hear that botton middle one in a Liam Neeson voice.

If the project is going to stand on its own merits, I think the designs that are implemented should be the ones that resemble actual Mega Man characters as little as possible.

I'm not in the same boat as most, but speaking objectively, it's better to discard sentimentality or a desire to one-up certain people and do what's better for the project as a whole.

HAHA GO! Goal 2 unlocked!

Image

EDIT: Couple of announcements from the KS Comment stream for surpassing the first stretch goal

comcept USA, LLC wrote:By the way everyone, our stretch goal chart does make it look like the final goal would be at $2.5 million -- but that's not necessarily so! If we might be so lucky to get even close, we have a lot of possibilities beyond that, some we have had since the start, and some forming listening to feedback already and going forward! So please, keep telling us what you want, and don't feel restricted in voicing your opinion by what you see on that chart :)

I agree with the sentiment, but off all the sketches that they provided for Call, the one that to me seemed like the best design was the one that looked like Roll. Maybe recolor her so she's not blonde and red would help, but I think that character design looked the best.

Well, that'll be hard considering most of the people working on the games have done Mega Man before and they tend to drawin that style.

I want that Mac/Linux version though. Please, PLEASE let's get up to that!

Oh, I expect the art style to be the same. It's the character designs that need to be more differentiated and I think coloring would make a big difference there.

Like I say, I like the Roll colored character design, but I think they should change the coloration to maybe be a little less Roll. Perhaps with a palette change, I would like one of the other designs though and that would be better since they are generally less Roll-esque.

I'm favoring the Aero-ish design, myself.
