The most Capcom could do is force him to change the character designs and tweak the story slightly. It's kind of hard to copyright a game play style, and there have already been a few Mega Man clones sold in the past stretching all the way back to The Krion Conquest just after Mega Man 2. Of which Capcom has C&D'd precisely one, Rockmen R: Dr. Wily's Counterattack and that's because the creators were trying to pass it off as an official Mega Man game even named themselves Capricorn and copied Capcom's logo.

I keep thinking of the whole Mario Bros VS Gaia Sisters thing. Gaia Sisters was a blantant rip off of Mario Bros and was sued by Nintendo. The Gaia Sisters series is still around today.

Has it been revealed what game systems this will be for? Before I consider supporting this thing I'd like to know I'll be able to play it.

Right now from my understanding it's going to be for PC on Steam, I'm pretty sure I saw it said in one of the interviews that console support is one of the tiers beyond the $900k initial goal.

Well, didn't quite get fully funded in 24 hours, but it shouldn't be long before it hits the mark.

C'mon, console versions...

Good, someone said it before I had to. ;P

Oh fine, then I support a Mega Man/Mighty No. 9 special crossover next. =P

Just like Mickey and Oswald!

You know, in 80 years and after we're all either too old to care or just plain dead. ;P

Seriously, this is like expecting a Banjo-Kazooie crossover with Ratchet & Clank, except I'd put more money on that one happening first.

ReifuTD: It's "Giana" Sisters, btw. In case anyone was going to search for it.

And it's almost completely funded. Wonder how much they'll make in the remaining 28 days. I hope CAPCOM is kicking themselves,

Image

Any preferences for the designs? Villain? Good doctor? Friend of good doctor?

I like most of them but the top middle one is a cool fusion of Wily and Weil.

I hope that this hits the $2.5 million mark. I really want this game on Wii U.

I haven't donated yet, but I have too many bills in the first half of the month. I'll be donating once I get paid on the 15th.
