Yeah, that was my point. We got a Michelangelo censored by Blue's hair in #17, not sure if it's really possible or necessary to have Roll nude.

And the more that I talk about this, the more awkward it feels...

It's really not necessary to focus on that to see why the visual in the comics is preferred. Roll's not a human being. If Rock gets injured and has to be worked on as Mega Man, we don't expect him to be naked while Dr. Light's fixing him: his blue suit is instead treated like skin. The same goes for all the other Robot Masters, and thus it also extends to Roll in her dress. It's just something that reminds you they're robots and being repaired, instead of normal people having surgery.
