They're looking to fit new Sonic Boom stories in digests or Super Specials.

The Archie action line (Sonic/Megman) will expand with new titles in the future.

This actually interests me greatly, especially if they decide to reference the SatAM cartoon for their backstory (though I'd also be interested in hearing a new backstory OUO)
Might have to look that when it happens ;3

And I said in another thread before then that Archie had already said that, so technically it's old news anyway. :/

As is the Archie Action Line possibly getting an expansion into new IPs.

Fair enough, but I didn't know that when I posted it XPPP *shot ded*
Honestly, I am so out of the loop with Sonic, last I was around Vincent was only just becoming the assistant editor, nice to see him moving up in the ranks =)

I hope it's a Shantae comic, Last time I brought this up as something Archie should do as a comic half the forum seemed to agree, I even listed why Shantae would be the perfect series for Archie to do,

-The Art style would go well with the type of art style that Archie uses for their adventure video game comics

-Female protagonist differentiates her from the other two main Video game comics

-Fans of the Shantae games tend to be the same people who like the Sonic and Mega Man games. Fans of Sonic and Mega Man tends to crossover reinforces that demographic.

-Fans of Shantae are willing to toss money at it, the original Shantae game cart for Game Boy Color (2002) tends to sell on Ebay for over 200$. Plus the last two games had a very successful Kickstarter campaign.

-Between Sonic and Mega Man, Shantae would be the most truly an adventure comic with Magic, Monsters, Dungeons, Classic Arabian fantasy world.

-If I had to guess it probably wouldn't be that hard to get the Comic right from the company that owns Shantae, WayForward since they are not as big as lets say Capcom and Sega.

-More personally, I like Shantae's take on female sexuality, One of the themes of the series is Belly Dancing, I love how self confident she is and the fun she has showing off her body.

-The games have a very fun sense of humor with some slight tongue and cheek innuendo that gives Shantae personality as a series, And fits with the type of humor Archie been doing.

So, I guess I'm the only one hoping for Mario?

No, It's just Mario isn't the first thought to people head, there's so many other things out there Mario can't be everyone's #1.

Plus Mario is pretty unlikely given Nintendo's doubling down on his image. I know they've talked about expanding his media presence, but I'd say this scenario is doubtful.

Hmm. Vin sounds pretty serious about expanding. I hope they do. Three Books (two based in the same world) is not a line.

Also interesting to hear they have plans for more Oneshots.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the Sonic editors are getting younger and younger-looking? Seriously, Vin looks like he's in his mid-20's.

Not that it matters or anything. I just found it interesting.

He comes off pretty bro-tier, right down to laughing at the accidental innuendo of the clearly socially awkward interviewer right in his face.

I approve.

This Vin guy is pretty cool right? Howdy folks! Sorry I never really ever post on here, but I do try to check in every now and then to see what everybody is buzzing about.

Thanks for the kind words, and yes I am 24, one of the youngest in the Archie office! Been working hard on the getting all the new stories coordinated and hope everybody digs what we have down the pike, the super secret stuff too!

I am a huge Shantae fan btw. I would love to do that comic.

With that I shall disappear until I randomly post again!

:)
