Sega will not be at E3 2015

Sega of America won't have a booth at this year's E3, and will instead focus on its restructuring and relocation to Southern California, the company said today.

In a statement to Game Informer, Sega of America said it plans to promote some of its bigger titles later in the year, after its relocation from San Francisco is complete. Earlier this year, Sega announced it was moving its U.S. headquarters to Southern California and cutting jobs.

So does this mean no preview of the new Sonic game this year ? at least it will not be showing at E3/

I know it's not the end of sonic. It's just that Sega needs to get it together. I think it's the best thing for sonic right now. Hopefully they make a full world release of that darn runners game. Come on already sega!

To be honest, I don't mind if they're skipping out E3 if what they're doing instead is focusing on sorting stuff out with the company and getting ready to reveal other projects later in the years. I'd rather they took their time then rush to reveal something.

SEGA said they wouldn't have a booth, not that they wouldn't be there.

Sounds like stuff like Yakuza, for example, will be on display at the PlayStation booth, since they're partnered with Sony for it.

Can't say I'm too surprised. They're pretty busy with this whole Restructuring thing so it's not that hard to believe.

Doesn't necessarily mean there won't be anything announced I don't think but we'll find out next month.

Sega fiscal report. 46 (!!!) FTP games are on their way but there are no mention of new Sonic games in it.

Boom sold a combined 620K. The big seller of the year was Alien Isolation which sold over 2 mil. The year was apparently a big loss as far as the company is concerned.

Is that a surprise in the wake of Boom's performance.

I don't think there is a need for a yes or no answer. It's embarrasing that a horror movie series' game incarnation out sold a spin off of their mascoting franchise. I hate being the guy whom keep spouting bad about but sometimes...take a flight to Japan, take a taxi to their headquarters, bust through the door and ask them if a rolled up newspaper meant anything to them.

Alien Isolation was a very good game that got loads of glowing reviews. Sonic Boom was Sonic Boom. Nothing about that is surprising.
46 FTP games is a shocker though.
