Isn't the Sony movie a confirmed thing happening? The movies mentioned for Boom are still only potential things according to that quote. Sounds like separate things to me.

Yeah, the Sony movie is happening, right? Meanwhile, the Boom thing is only hypothetical...

If they did Boom movies they would probably be direct to DVD affairs, like those Scooby-Doo movies or Tinkerbelle movies and stuff like that.

Didn't we already know that it had nothing to do with Boom?

Oh man, please tell me people aren't thinking the Sony, SEGA and Marza film is now a Sonic Boom film...

Ahh yes I see now. You know, I never thought people would get confused by different quotes, but anything's possible. Either way the movie still sounds promising to me, but until we get more info on it, I really have not alot to say about it.

Just a friendly reminder that 2015 is almost over and we were promised more news in 2015 and we've barely gotten anything...

If we're lucky, it'll stay that way, and then this project can quietly slunk into development @#$%.

Any adaption that feels they need to take their cartoon characters to a real life environment and hinting that some roles/characters will be played by real actors cant be any good
I mean look at Smurfs en Teenage Muntant Ninja turtle (tho Honestly I LIKE the tmnt movie)
but both of them were very flawed for putting the characters you WANT to see in the background because studios seems to see the 'star'characters as merely extra and people want to see some added character as the focus and become the interaction tool for the audience to engage with the CGI character when that isn't needed at all because most fans WANT just to see their favorite characters interaction with each other and the environment not for some hollywood actor to play that role, we (the fans ) dont need that.

That is my biggest worry for this movie honestly. It seems like filmmakers today are obsessed with inserting some star human actor in every movie who is "trying to get the girl" or something, and trying to make us invest in them as the main character when nearly everyone in the theater came to the movie to see the title characters as our main heroes, and see THEM interact with each-other.

It's proven to create bad movies, and it's also proven to make big bucks at the box office, so I wonder how much longer it'll be before filmmakers realize just how terrible an idea it is, and how much more they could make if they just made good movies.

Agreed.
The only time I remember not all out hating the "made for the film" character in an adaption was Danny from TMNT 1990.

Ooh, maybe they'll adapt Sonic X and cast a real kid as Chris.

Spoiler: show
I'll consider it a fair enough trade if they get Christopher Lloyd to play Chuck.
