But in those cases the two pieces of media in question are completely unrelated in terms of characters and setting. It's not like the Rugrats creators where making non-child-friendly stuff featuring the Rugrats characters themselves.

Probably not, but the staff who worked on the show has some pretty interesting artjams to get themselves out of the art block. Then it got weird.
Or, if you really want to hit home, try Dan DeCarlo of Archie fame who did adult drawings of "Not Veronica and Not Betty."

If you want someone who did do adult work of the things they created, go no further than the co-creator of Superman, Joe Shuster.

Don't forget Bruce Timm and the Woopee Cushion; heck, that ones actually canon:
"Harley Quinn: Oh sweetie? I've got the whoopie cushion. "

Or the Rescue Rangers art. Honestly we could probably go on about several artists who did not-child friendly art of their work but we couldn't get too far on a child friendly forum. :P

That being said I really love #258's cover. The colors are really nice and almost pastel. I can see why people would mistake it for Vaporotem's art style. It's a good style for Sonic and I wouldn't mind seeing it used for more covers in the future.

So, it looks like Shadow is next in the line of characters to get their own personal nemesis.

IT'S ABOUT TIME (I say sarcastically), last I checked didn't he have Black doom and Mephelis as his nemesis'?

Ian's apparently not allowed to use Black Doom, and Mephiles doesn't exist anymore. So Eclipse is the next best thing.

Oh yeah. Those won't be applying to future issues, either.

Are you referring to the information regarding the E-100 Series robots, just the E-107 Theta information, or the blogs in general?

I'm not allowed to use either. (nevermind they're both kinda, y'know, dead) I had wanted to find a way to bring back Mephiles - folks like him, after all - but was told he's off limits.

Sounds like anything affected by timey wimey that aren't Blaze and Silver are basically off-limits. So I'm guessing that Ifrit is also off-limits.

I don't why, but there's something retro about #258's cover. Well, Modern Retro.

I take back everything I ever said about Archie never hiring any creative cartoony artists.
THIS. IS. AWESOME!

Ian Flynn wrote:Totally honest - I'd forgotten E-107 Theta was teased in M30YL.

Don't expect any follow-up to anything I introduced in that story arc.

Thats really too bad, I was rather excited about the stuff teased in that SU arc about the Ixis Uprising and the Elemental War, I always thought it would have something to do with Tikal merging with Chaos. Or, perhaps it would have been the cause of the merging.

Oh well, I'm still enjoying the comics plenty as it is X3

I hope the Ixis Uprising can still happen in some fashion.
