So what if the French made their own comic based on their translation of Genesis and the game adaptations?

I wouldn't be able to read it and I have no idea how I'd actually buy it, but I'd definitely be interested in their take on things. (Who knows--maybe they'd bring back Alucion?)

Well that's basically what I said in my post right above yours :(hearty laughter):

The easiest way should be to use the Mobius Timeline and stop it around 150 , with a brief description of main characters and arcs , and then continue on with the more recent issues . Of course , not everyone would be able to keep up , but they could do something like the archives and use the 10 last pages to describe new characters and places that appear in more recent issues . This could actually work .

Issue #3 is coming out on June 19th and. It will have the Generations story and... #230 ?! (the synopsis talks about Mecha Sally) I don't understand. They're releasing it in the middle of an arc full of characters readers won't recognize (until they read the original comics)...

There must surely be other stories in there that the solicit doesn't mention: the Generations adaption and "...two steps back" make up just a single issue's worth of content, when the other two editions had two issues each.

#234 would be a good starting point with some editing, It would be like the first episode of X-Men 1992 series where Morph dies and Beast get arrested only Antoine is put in a coma and Bunny runs away. But yeah if I where to adapt Archie Sonic into an animated series issue 234 would be a first and work in everything else from there.

Volume 3 should be coming out tomorrow. I'll most certainly be placing my Amazon order as soon as it's listed as available.

I just bought my copy.
First, there is NO Sonic Generations tie-in story although the cover is based on the game...

Image

When you open the book, you see a cover from an issue that isn't even in the book.

Image

The story begins directly with #230.

Image

In general, they did a good job on the translation, bar a few mistakes that can be overlooked (like Bunnie's "Oh mah stars" that was translated as "Oh... des étoiles / oh, stars", I think they're not familiar with her accent).
Most names are the same, they even mention the events of past issues.
Although it's funny that they translated "Vanilla the Rabbit" as "Vanilla le lapin", but they left "Big the Cat" in English.

Image

But the issue end on a strange point...

Image

Yes, that's the last page of the book.
There's a teaser for next issue, out next November.

Any question ?

But... the preview pages... :?

Also, how do they deal with the footnotes that direct you to much earlier issues (i.e. the reference to Sally Mini-series reference in #230)?

Heh, I like how they changed the "hi Sal" message on the window to "salut Sal."

They're removed.

Quick comparison :

Also, there are no back story. So the three wizards inside Naugus seem to appear out of nowhere, no explanation.
