It's apparently going to be Comixology exclusive so I doubt I'll be able to read it but freaking finally.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. If I wanted to read a depressing DC or Marvel Comic, I would have purchased a depressing DC or Marvel Comic.

I was happy when Archie launched New Crusaders because it was something different. It stood out from the crowd. It was, for lack of a better analogy, the Teen Titans cartoon in a cartoon field flooded with super-serious Batman cartoons. It was fun.

I did not have fun with this issue.

Spoiler: show
That's not to say that it wasn't well written. It was extremely well written. Heck, following up on Fly-Girl as she deals with her grief over the death of fireball was extremely logical, emotional, and I really felt for her.

Then the talking chimp walked in, and immediately reminded me why this is a problem.

This isn't fun. This isn't different anymore. It's the same identity crises that DC and Marvel were extremely well known for up until very, very recently. And I just can't wrap my head around why, in a field flooded with this very same content, Archie decided to imitate DC and Marvel with their superheroes.

They want to imitate other comics, because other comics make the big money.
