The thrilling new series that lets fans relive classic Sonic stories continues! Volume 7 presents issues #25 through #28 of Sonic’s ongoing comic book series in a special 5 x 7 & ½ inch edition. Each story is meticulously restored and printed on high-grade paper-so you can feel like you're zipping right alongside the cobalt champion as he saves Knothole Village! This action-packed edition features the first comic book appearances of Metal Sonic, Amy Rose, Sonic’s betrayal of the Freedom Fighters and the solo story that led to Tails’ own mini-series! Stories include:
“Go Ahead, Mecha My Day” (issue #25): Robotnik kidnaps Amy Rose so he can lure Sonic into a duel with his newest creation, Metal Sonic! First appearance of both Amy and Metal!
“Way, Way, Way Past Cool!” (issue #26): Robotnik attempts to put Knothole into a deep freeze, but luckily the Arctic Freedom Fighters arrive to thaw… and thwart… his chilling scheme!
“Fortified” (issue #26): A twisted ankle for the blue blur leads Sonic and the Freedom Fighters to refuge in an abandoned fort. Will it be enough to protect them from Robotnik’s rampaging onslaught?
“Scrambled Hedgehog” (issue #27): A case of amnesia makes Sonic an easy mark for Robotnik, who convinces our hero to almost give away Knothole’s secret location! Will Sonic’s memory return, or will his betrayal be permanent?
“Saturday Night’s All Right for a Fight” (issue #28 ): Sonic continues his traitorous ways due to his memory loss, and the Freedom Fighters need all the firepower they can muster to defeat their once-great champion!
“Growing Pains Part 1” (issue #28 ): In the aftermath of Sonic’s betrayal, Tails sets course in his Sea Fox for an uncharted island. There he meets and must save Fiona Fox, who the dastardly Robonik kidnapped, in this prelude to Tails’ mini-series.

Did it get a whole new colour job or is my monitor too bright? I remember the issue being more... subdued in pallets.
And awwww... look at the cute little Amy Rose again ... before she became an animu fangirl. _________________

| They always look too bright in the previews, the archives always get new coloring jobs. |

I assumed they look brighter in the previews because everything looks brighter on a backlit computer screen (which uses RGB), and darker when printed out (which uses CMYK).
This is still one of my favourite issues, btw. _________________

I assumed they look brighter in the previews because everything looks brighter on a backlit computer screen (which uses RGB), and darker when printed out (which uses CMYK). | That brightness varience also varies by OS, as Windows and Macs have a difference in their Gamut, or the brightness, with Macs displaying things slightly darker. Macs are more preferred for printed media. In addition, there are differences in monitors, since between three different monitors over the last week, it looks brighter on my new monitor, but I'll also add that it's an HDMI LCD. I'll also add that I'm still trying to make adjustments on said monitor to reduce the brightness universally some, but it's identical to the display of some programs on another computer. _________________

Yeah, #25 the "Sonic CD" adaption was one of my all-time favorite issues to. My favorite thing about it is how "serious" it looks with Spaz's (great) artwork, while the dialogue and some of the actions are still goofy & humorous like the early issues.
Robotnik raiding Archie Comics' mail bag is priceless. (Isn't that kinda "breaking the fourth wall?") Not to mention Snivley in a Robotnik suit. I love how silly the older comics were.
Hey, look! It's the first appearence of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic!
...Somebody had to mention it. _________________ Wanna play "Sonic Rush Adventure" with me?

Aww.. :\ I can totally understand the need for it to keep it consistent across the board, but it's not 'the same' anymore. Does look good though.
Wow, I just realized Tails is calling her "princess Sally".. I always read it as "aunt Sally" Oo; _________________

I'd love to see Tails try the old "I dyed my fur!" excuse like Sally did. XD _________________

That's...that's actually not a bad explanation. It sounds better than "Mammoth Mogul keeping him prisoner changed his color."
(which was when it happened--once Mogul made his Tails-clone) _________________ Sonic on the Nintendo GameBoy?? Check out my Green Hills remix at 8bitcollective!

| Wow, I knew the older comics were not that good but sheesh this is just awful, I guess the stories we have now are not as awful as I thought if they are not going to be this bad. I hope the game adaptions that will be coming up in the future will adapt the games far better then what we have been seeing from Archie before. |

I think this is one of the better adaptations, actually. We don't need a rehash of the game. This is a new spin on it and I enjoyed it. And the art didn't hurt. |
