Hey all,
I've noticed from the lack of sales that many of you may not know that all of my Sonic and Sonic X pages on the bumble store are on sale at 25% off until June 27th. I've got a baby on the way and lots of things to buy. So, if you've been considering making an investment in a one-of-a-kind piece of Sonic art, now is the time to act!

Yes, this is another shameless plug on my part. But this is my job, after all. So, nyeh!

Oh man... ;_; I wish I had money to burn.. StH #160 page 7.. with Bean! ;_; So many levels of epic want.
Two questions...
What determines how much a page is worth? Some pages seem to have a ton 1/2 of detail, but only worth $30, while covers and other pages with way less are $90?
What are their dimensions? If I'm not mistaken most people work really big.. how do you scan that? o_o _________________

Things that determine the price for me are:
1. Which characters are on the page. The average fan is going to want to see the big name characters like Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, etc.
2. How much time/effort went into the particular page. Is it loaded with detail, or fairly simple?
3. What's going on in the page? Is it a wicked fight scene, or do we see some B level characters standing around talking?
4. How much do I, personally, like the page? Some pages I'm more attached to than others, so I'll charge more for those.
As for why the covers are so much more, well, its because they're covers. There are lots of interior pages to any given issue, but only one cover. And as for the size, every page is the same 14x17 or whatever the exact dimensions are. The cover pages are just a tiny bit bigger than that, but the size really has nothing to do with the price. Yes, its all rather arbitrary, but I have to put some kind of price on them, and if you were ever to catch me at a convention, the price is usually negotiable there. If there's a page anyone should want, just be patient. I don't get a ton of orders, so chances are, you can get the page you'd like sometime in the future. Lastly, I don't have any Enerjak pages YET. I only have pages up to issue #175 right now. (I sold the entire issue of #176 on Free Comic Book Day for a lump sum) Mike is a busy man, but as soon as he can send me some more of my pages, I'll post them on the store for sale.

I can't afford to buy anything, but I want to say congratulations for your wonderful new addition to your family. Boy or girl?
If he's a boy, I suggest the name Antoine, and if she's a girl, I suggest the name Sally. Under no circumstances should you name your child Enerjak, or your wife might get annoyed.
This is totally off topic, but the talking about baby names made me remember that when my younger sister was little, she used to say that when she grew up she'd name her kids R2-D2 and C-3PO. (Don't get any ideas Tracy.) XD

When I bought my page last month, I based it on price, who was on the cover, and whether there was some good poses. I chose Sonic X issue 6 page 5 cuz their is a nice shot of Sonic holding a power ring, and a nice wide angle of Amy, Tails and Sonic all posing. Also, this ish was digitally lettered, so there is no word balloons blocking the art. _________________

Do you bring these pages with you to signings? That's how Ken Penders and David Hutchison usually handle their page sales. Ken usually starts at $15 and can go up to the triple digits (also he has other Sonic artist work for sale), while the last time I was at San Diego Comic Con, Davids pages were going for $20 per page straight, which is how I got an awesome Sonic X splash page. That's still quite a bit lower than your sale prices.
Of course, niether of them have Tracy Yardley art, so that's definitely something. Still, pages like Chris and his friends as children are a hard sell. You may want to consider price restructure. _________________

Well, sure I bring them to signings, or cons. But I only go to two cons a year tops. Those things cost a buck or two to get to. Obviously, I want to sell pages, but honestly, my impassioned pleas for buyers are meant halfway as a joke.
As for other artists, they're free to charge whatever they wish whether they sell themselves short or charge way too much. Sure, I could probably charge less for some pages featuring Chris and friends or Mammoth Mogul ranting, but I also feel many of my pages are appropriately priced and even downright cheap considering the effort I put into them. Not to mention the superb inks by legendary industry veterans Jim Amash and Terry freakin' Austin.
Anyway, maybe I could drop my prices. Thanks for the advice, Shiggs.
