...Here's a random thought on the future of the Dark Egg Legion.
Lien-Da forces Dimitri out - Dimitri isn't interested in serving the Eggman Empire after all, but in the echidnas. Lien-Da would probably be willing to accept others into a Dark Egg Legion and deviate it from its original purpose. Perhaps we're due to have a splintering of the Dark Legion, with some returning to Albion and the others staying with Eggman? _________________

Another splintering?
We'd had little Legion splinter versions a few times now. Can we stop splintering them? It's much more interesting if there's actual conflict in the ranks, instead of them just canceling each other by their troops butting heads all the time.
I suppose I'd just like to see some concepts used in ways we haven't seen before. We've had splintered legions, we've had MOBIUS: THE FUTURE (starring the echidnas), we've had a lot of stuff already done. Let's move ahead with concepts we haven't already seen. Let's let the old Echidna stuff stay in the past and actually move ahead with their story, let's see what happens with the new villainess in charge instead of going on about how Eggman will be affected by it, etc, etc. _________________ *DOINK* |

Anybody else really, really interested in what the Dark Egg legion "Broadening in meaning" entails? Having put the top secret content as close to my faces as I could without my eyes crossing, I've managed to make out that one of the concepts is a Platypus (Says Dark Egg Legionaire: Platypus) and the other appears to be a bee or a wasp of some kind, or maybe a scorpion. (Exposed *something* barb) visible beneath the censor bar.
Now, it's entirely possible that these are new faces we've never seen before, but I can't help but wonder, has Penelope gone to the dark side? Also, Monkey Kahn was an early cyborg, I wonder if coolie-hat-girl will be one too. She looks sort of important.
And while I'm on the topic of drawing massive speculation from inconsequential clues, is the random Super Sonic by the preview for 200 making anyone else think he'll be part of the final battle despite the fact that there are no emeralds to hand and we've been told he wasn't showing up? |

Wouldn't know since my local comic shop ran out of it, but I really wish I could get my hands on it since it seems to have some pretty cool stuff.

Scan's of anything in particular?
As far as S. Sonic, yeah I thought it looked like a new image of him... It really seems like there were little spoilers dotted all throughout the issue. There's an image from the Egg Tarantula battle, the DL branching out, Lien-da rising to power, a possible return to Downunda, S. Sonic as said before, and of course the Iron Queen and all her peeps.
(This is completely off topic but saying "peeps" with Iron Queen made me think of it: Why at the comic shop I saw what I thought was the most amusing Marvel comic cover to my knowledge- Thor listening to an iPod.)
I'll be honest though, I know it's free, but I'd really like to see a return to the format of FCBD Issue 2007. Reprints and history are nice but I've been reading since issue #11. I get that these are meant to spread the word to new readers, but every issue has the featured characters introduced right up front. It really seems like every issue of the main book is being made as a jump on point so I think that a stand-alone issue like that of FCBD Issue 2007 both entertains your current readers while still offering a free taste of the goodness to the rest of the masses.
That's not to mention that some may feel as though the history lesson can be daunting. There is alot of history to take in, and then there's going to be the Encyclopedia. Once that hits I'm sure you wouldn't use a format like this anyway since it would be redundant. I liked last year's #1 reprint alright as I had missed it initially, but really it doesn't fit with today's book. It is neat to see where everything started but the book has evolved too much. The characters, while being essentially the same, have grown. That said, I think a new, one-shot story is far more enticing in that you can use it as a "state of the book" type deal to introduce new readers to the world while still offering new content.
That's just my take, use it as you will. _________________

| I'm pretty sure it's from Universe #2 (Vs. Final Hazard) but I was wondering why it was there. Just to add spice to the visuals of that page, or... as a hint of something more? |

*Goes and looks* Ah, you're right, so it is. My mistake. Still, the other spoilers are valid. _________________

Eh...it's hard to get worked up over a scan of a free book. And since the day itself has passed, that one I don't see any harm in finding. |

Thoughts on FCBD Sonic
Looks like the DEL may be picking up more members. Possibly other than Echidnas too. Cool.
This was a great way to get people introduced to the book. Covers a lot of ground.
Knuckles, who had his own series get's one page, while Shadow gets three?!
Two pages of Sonic vs. Eggman? We know why they fight.
No Nicole, no Supression Squad, no Scourge, no Tails parents or council. These are all important recent players for new readers to know to jump on. Meanwhile there's stuff like an extra page of Sonic vs. Eggman and stuff on why Shadow went good that, while fine for the big index book, should have been cut out for this FCBD book.
Since when is Archemedies a Chaotix? Might as well call them "Knuckles pals" at this point.
Gotta like how Saffron is "Charmy's dearest friend" and not his wife.
Sorry if I'm nitpicking. I don't mean to, but it's the critic in me. I just think there are some parts that are great, and others that are wasted opportunities. I honestly thought it was very good. |

Remember, there's an encyclopedia coming out.
And frankly, covering Knuckles' side of things in detail would require one. _________________
