True, but the conversation could have continued for longer than what we were shown.

So did I. Someone I chatted with thought it was harsh, and I couldn't disagree, but he has tried to be nice about his disinterest, Julie and Sally have also pointed out in their own ways he's not interested and she refuses to get the hint. It was overdue. |

| I'll agree with everyone else about how nice the STH-25 and Sonic/Amy bits are nice; however, with no disrespect to Herms, I can't really tell a difference in coloring and just see colors. Also, what do you mean by a violet tint in Ray's color, I've never noticed it before? |

His backgrounds and background characters...and even foreground lately...are some shade of purple or blue. I could understand doing that in a low-light setting like a moonlight night ala #173, but he does it when it's broad daylight. I know we're not supposed to be mean about the writers and artists, and I don't know why Ray does that, but it LOOKS like it's just because he's lazy. May not be the case, but that's how it looks to me.
Plus, Herms brought back Bernie as purple! And Scourge looks more lime-green like he started as well. _________________

I am so very pumped aboy Herms' colouring. It really completes the art. I was hoping he'd start doing some colour work, and he did! _________________

Silly Snively, there's no such thing as girls on TEH INTERNETZ.
If it is a woman, then IT'S A TRAP.
Yes, I am also impressed by Herms' colouring. I will miss Robotnik's purple glasses, though; he was Ozzy for a day. Poor thing, had delusions of grandeur. |

...really?
He floods characters with a single colour fill rather than... well, colouring them. I could understand it used for background crowds or something, but it's kinda lame when there's like three characters in a panel and two of them aren't even coloured in, especially when they're talking or their actions and expressions are part of the story and are meant to be noticed. They're not just filling in the background here, they're supposed to be part of the scene. _________________

Wow...thats actually kind of pathetic. Looks like Ray just rushed through everything. Herms looks like an amazing improvement, especially because of the detail he puts into the coloring...atleast from what we've seen so far. |

Really, Lea, I had never noticed it before, but now that you've shown examples, which I was hoping someone would, I agree that it is pathetic and truly looked like he was lazy. I could see it if some of those people were way in the distance, but he colored them purple even if they were close or even in the foreground like Fiona which is bad. So, yes, Herms seems like a better colorist; anymore of examples of some of the bad coloring Ray did? |

And the crowd turns ugly. Geez.
There's nothing really wrong with Ray's colors. Sure, it's lazy of him to "blue in" all but two or three characters in a group shot, but that doesn't make him bad at his job. He's... just lazy, I guess.
But yeah, from what I've seen, Herms does do a better job at coloring. If he colors in every character in group shots, I'll definitely be sold. |

That was my first thought to.. XD
I wouldn't really call Ray's purple-people "lazy". Lazy would be using rainbow gradient on everything. It's just his style. Overused a wee on some occasions, maybe, but I don't have that many complaints about it. It brings your eye to the front - or to the main action - and pushes the rest behind. Kind of like a comic strip you'd see in the paper, detail up front, simplification in the background. Ray just uses colour.
And.. well..we all know who the characters are anyway.
That said..Herms though? I really like his shading. It really pops. The panels look more like cartoon still shots than actual comic frames. _________________

I thought that all this time, he did that to put focus on the foreground instead of the back. Didn't know it was due to laziness. _________________

Well, I don't think there is really anything wrong with his coloring either as, like I said, I hadn't noticed the purple until now, but since people are gushing over Herms coloring, I was wondering if there was something else wrong that I hadn't noticed before. |

I like Snivley's remark in the second panel, and Rosey's line, "so many cute hedgehogs for me to smush into much!"
I just renewed my subscription, so hopefully I should get this issue. _________________ Wanna play "Sonic Rush Adventure" with me?
