I have to admit when I saw the last page of this issue I winced and said something to the effect of "What's with Scrouge? He looks like a really lame recolor." He looks like a rutabaga now! _________________ Sonic Comic Character Checklist website.

And Ian has stated that this will be explained in the comic at some point...could it be soon though? Shadow was trying to get to the Special Zone...and in Sonic Universe he ends up in Blaze's dimension...did he make it to the Special Zone BEFORE he gets to Blaze/Marine's dimension? _________________

Personally, I'd rather Scourgey look like a "lame recolor" as opposed to looking like an even lamer same color character as Sonic. (Like he used to be.)
I kinda prefer Super Scourge looking like a purple photo-negative version of himself rather then being yellow, white, or something like all the other character Super forms are. _________________ Wanna play "Sonic Rush Adventure" with me?

i think Super Scourge is awesome
at least he's not gold cause gold is kinda getting old and we have already 3 hedgehogs that have that color
purple is ok its pretty original but im just bugged by the fact that his accessories change colour to
i mean since when do Sonic's shoes change colour? |

As has been pointed out, Burning Blaze's clothing changes colour. _________________

Then you could just as easily argue that the Moebian emeralds have a different effect.
It's not like there's some specific set of rules that every character turning Super conforms to... for instance, Sonic's eyes change colour, but not Shadow's. _________________

I've tried to nail down a Super Forme rule, but it just isn't there.
Super Sonic - invert base color and add gold sheen. Blue changes to yellow, golden sheen - we have a working base!
Super Shadow - invert black to white, gold sheen - it works! . . . if you ignore his stripes remaining constant.
Super Silver - remains silver-white with a gold sheen. Oh well.
Super Knuckles (games) - pink, or just very white-ish.
Burning Blaze - red and her clothes change.
So since there really isn't much of a pattern to follow, giving Super Scourge the "Darkspine" treatment makes as much sense as anything else.
A more in-depth cataloging of the collective thought process is here:

Technically, Super Knuckles doesn't change color at all (take a look at the darkest color he flashes in comparison to Super Sonic), but merely has a pink/white sheen. (best seen here)
Sonic Heroes would see this sheen changed to yellow.
If anything, all the boys get a gold sheen, while the one girl gets a pink one.
Either way, Scourge would likely be exempted from this rule, due to using different emeralds. _________________

Hey Ian. Hey Ian. Iaaaaaan. Guess what?
CHICKEN BUTT.
Jus' teasing. I picked up STH 195 yesterday and found one of your "Easter Eggs." I am surprised nobody else picked up on it sooner.
Engine part SXSU-401. Sonic X 40, Sonic Universe #1.
Standard STH-25 model. Sonic the hedgehog comic is the standard. 25 could stand for issue 200 or 2 in five issues counting from this one.
(Note I just found out from fellow goon Toby that STH 25 was the first issue Metal Sonic appeared in. So sue me. I'm getting up there in age. I didn't have that issue. My car ran out of gas and was on the median. )
Strange story to go along with this comic, though. I decided to pick up this issue at another store (I used to visit when I was in high school; the proximity of this store to my house is a chore to go to on a monthly basis.) because my family happened to shop in that district, and decided to see if they received the issue in. Occasionally I come to this store because they get the issues WAY before the comic shops in Jacksonville; also the owner knows me and she knows what I am looking for.
Here's the strange part. I walk in the door and notice the unusual amounts of people there, (mainly teenage, young adult fanboys) and the front door was mysteriously missing. In my haste pursuit to grab the issue and go, I didn't notice that the front door was missing. I go inside and found a small group gazing at a large hole in the ceiling. At the time, I thought water damage set in, or someone decided to do something stupid and smash it in (like roughhousing. Some of those men are pretty tall.) When I made my purchase, the owner told me what all of the commotion was about. It turns out that the night before, a thief climbed onto the roof, scaled the AC unit, crashed through the cellulite ceiling and broke out the front door in an amateurish manner.
The kicker? He only stole a Styrofoam cup filled with $ 30.00 worth of dimes. He touched nothing else (and the store is loaded with some valuable goodies, like really old and rare DC and Marvel comics.) |

Um, actually, everybody's picked up on that Easter Egg. It is a really good one, though. STH 25 stands for Sonic the Hedgehog, Issue #25. It's the issue in which Metal Sonic was introduced.
Who steals three dollars of dimes...? |

This is slightly off topic but when my brother got #195 in the mail it was rolled up & crammed into the mailbox. Has anyone else ever have that type of problem when receiving their issues? _________________ Sonic Comic Character Checklist website.
