TheFatPandas art thread (Featuring Regular Show)

Postby TheFatPanda » Thu Aug 02, 2012 5:59 pm

REQUESTS CURRENTLY CLOSED. May reopen when I've, at the very least, completed the ones I've still got to do.

I'm now seeing how I can do with requests. I've decided I won't have a specific limit on the amount of requests, unless it really begins to pile up...

You can ask me for:
-Sonic Characters. I'm willing to give fanchars a try too.
-Pairings. Nothing sexual. Furthest I'm willing to go is kissing.
-Comedic situations.
-Want non-Sonic characters? Ask me and I'll tell you if I can draw it.

Requests:
-Speedlion: Cartoony version of himself
-CaleTheCat: Cale The Cat (OC)

Original post:

My own thread, since everybody's doin' it.

I'm an incredibly lazy drawer, and it's all down to being a total perfectionist who barely ever finishes a drawing without ripping the paper up in an irritated rage.

Examples of my skills:

BEARS. BEARS EVERYWHERE.

Kung Fu Panda is one of my favorite Dreamworks IPs right behind How To Train Your Dragon (it's impossible to beat it).

I know these drawings were posted ages ago in the General Thread, but I never commented on them...so...

The top drawing is very well done. I enjoy his ...rotundness ((hearty laughter)) and his cartoon anatomy is pulled off really well. Baby Po is adorable. I've never played a Mystery Dungeon game, but Ursa... ring? Is it ring? I don't know my post-RSE Pokémon too well. But it's nice. And I know nothing of Adventure Time. *shot*

Yes, Panda, you finally got one of these! Now I can compliment your awesome art skill setz. I've already said my thoughts on the first two pics (Awesome and adorable, respectively), so I'll move on to the latter two....

Image
Nice work. I like how Ursaring is embarrassed/weirded out by something in the distance, nice touch. The coloring is especially nice.

Image
YES. Everything about this works, man. From the fact that a silhouette of the actual Finn serves as realistic-ish Finn's shadow, to the awesome expression he wears on his face (with that look, he seems to be saying "Yo, bro, are you ready for some serious teenage adventure?"), and the line he says? Just awesome. The liberties you took with the character weren't too drastic, and they worked. The backpack seemed a little small, though. I like big backpacks and I cannot lie The coloring/shading with colored pencils was incredibly nice, too. Can't wait for more.

Woo!! Positive reception makes me happy (not that I can't take criticism too...)

It think the Ursaring picture deserves a little explination: tbth I wasn't even thinking of Mystery Dungeon when I put the bandana in, I just wanted to give him something that made him stand out. And my intention was that he was embarrassed by the bandana  But you can interpret it any way you like :P

I got more stuff in the works: some of which are actually related to the blue hedgehog we're all here for. Speaking of which, I've been taking Swifty's advice from my previous Sonic drawing and tweaking my style a bit: and I'm really much prouder of how this one turned out :D

The Anti-Cream, of Moebius (obviously)

Image

Backstory: Growing up with a neglectful mother working in a sleazy line of business, the Anti-Cream has developed into a quiet, securitive, and just pretty dang screwed up young girl. She has no friends accept for the ones which she created with her own mind, however, the stuff her made-up friends come out with can be freakishly grim. She used to have one friend who was real: her Chao Cheese. After her companion died in a tragic accident, she kept the corpse and stuffed it.
Anti-Cream rarely ever talks as her own self, usually "using" the stuffed Cheese carcus to talk for her...

(The stuffed Cheese corpse was Diamonddeath's idea)

Oh, wow, I didn't even notice this. Haha, thanks for crediting me for the idea! By the way, I wonder what the accident was. Could it have anything to do with her neglectful mother's sleazy business? Perhaps he was accidentally taken out in a hit and run? I want to see this character that we made with our combined mighty story-telling skills (hah) in a whole bunch of fan-art! :(hearty laughter):

This isn't the first time we've combined story elements for a Moebius idea. There was the Shadow one with his healing powers.

Anti-cream is awesome. Awesomely emo. And deadly. Wouldn't want to run into her in a dark alleyway way. Then again, what would you be doing in a dark alleyway anyway? *gives a skeptical look*

Dude. I never came here until today, but now I feel bad. You are such a good artist, my friend. I'm sorry that I don't around here often enough to assess what people do here with their talents. It makes me feel that much better that I have the one sketch you gave me for my birthday. It wasn't as if I didn't think you could draw before this day, but I was unaware of your potential as an artist. I come here and now I am pleasantly surprised to know that you have a lot of raw talent! I don't know if I can professionally evaluate your talents from a technical perspective, but I can see next to nothing wrong with what I see here! I can clearly see a progression at work here if all this art posted here is in chronological order. I really love how you draw Po, my friend! I can really see you going places with what I see here.

Hopefully you will draw more of Wolf Boss in the future. You don't have to if you don't want to, but it certainly would be very much appreciated.
